Language Education

The West African Academics Professional Centre (WAAPC) is an initiative by the Rural-Empowerment Foundation (REF) aimed at providing language education to people in rural communities. The organization has partnered with a number of leading education institutions, including ETS, British Council, ACT, and others to offer a range of language services.

WAAPC operates in Abidjan and provides services in English language education, TOEFL/TOEIC/TFI/IELTS, and ACT and SAT preparations. These services are designed to help students improve their language proficiency and gain the skills they need to succeed academically and professionally. In addition to language education, WAAPC also organizes debates and Model United Nations (MUN) events among high schools in Abidjan. These events provide students with the opportunity to practice their language skills in a real-world setting while also developing critical thinking and leadership skills. To fund REF initiatives, WAAPC solicits funds in Abidjan from individuals, corporations, and other organizations through paid services. The funds are used to support their language education programs and to provide scholarships to students who might not otherwise be able to afford these services in rural communities.

Overall, the West African Academics Professional Centre is an important initiative by the Rural-Empowerment Foundation aimed at promoting language education and supporting students in their academic and professional pursuits. Through partnerships with leading education institutions and the organization of MUN and debate events, WAAPC is helping to prepare the next generation of leaders in West Africa.
