In January 2023, British Council and WAAPC Education Group officially signed a partnership agreement in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, with legitimate authorization to deliver IELTS services.
The partnership is managed by the WAAPC Training Centre, operating under the WAAPC Education Group. Through this authorization, the Training Centre is approved to deliver
IELTS preparation programmes and register IELTS candidates locally in Abidjan, in line with British Council standards.
This collaboration made the globally recognised English proficiency test significantly more accessible to students and professionals in Côte d’Ivoire, removing the usual barriers of
distance, cost, and limited test access.
For us, the agreement reinforced its role as a bridge between West African learners and global education systems. For candidates, the outcome was simple and practical. IELTS became available closer to home, delivered through a properly authorised centre, backed by the credibility and oversight of the British Council.
